Anthropos – mankind: he is intervening in his environment and changing nature in his own interests in a way never seen before. The sometimes-dramatic consequences of this in the geological age of the Anthropocene are the subject of the Humboldt-Universität’s exhibition in Unter den Linden underground station. Elements of various sizes, types and origins populate the walls. In richly detailed pictures of hidden objects and word clouds, they shift from one image to another. Terms representing major concepts build bridges between the worlds and make clear, in a unique way, how in our present day and age, the smallest and largest of things, the individual and the innumerable, and geological, biological and man-made processes are interconnected in a variety of ways.

These questions and challenges are the subject of the work of many scientists at the Humboldt-Universität. We cordially invite you to decipher the images and their contexts on a guided tour through the station and to discover the research topics and projects behind the images.

The guided tours take place every third Sunday of the month at 11 a.m. Participation is free. Registration is required.
