The Humboldt-Kinder-Uni is aimed at primary schools in the Berlin-Brandenburg region. The goal is to give children insight into university life and to inspire them with exciting science topics. Lectures always take place in spring and autumn during the semester break. There are usually 3-4 lectures of one hour each. Professors of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin offer lectures in a child-friendly manner and thus allow the students to participate in their field of research. Once a year an additional lecture is offered at Green Week.

The invitations are specifically issued through the schools, and the program is intended to complement the school's educational offerings. Therefore always in the mornings during school hours.
